RN Annual Retreat
‘What’s in a Name’
Knowing Yourself, Your Longing & Knowing God with His beautiful Names

December 21-24, 2019
This year’s theme is centered around learning to use the self to unlock the beautiful Names of God (al-asma' al-husna), the source of all that we long for in this life and in the next.

And He taught Adam the Names, all of them (Q. 2:31)
To God alone belongs all the Beautiful Names (Q. 7:180)

What is special about Adam/humanity learning the Names?
Why is this ‘teaching’ of the Beautiful Names important? How does it contribute to our human calling and well-being?
What are the Beautiful Names? To whom do they belong? Why does it matter to us whose they are?
How are we taught the Names?
How do we witness the reflection of these Names in the world and within our souls?
What is the role of the Beautiful Names of God in grounding us and our iman [faith/belief] in God and in the Hereafter?

The retreat will be mainly taught by the Quranic scholar Dr. Yamina Bouguenaya. Additional speakers such as Dr. Faraz Sheikh and Isra Yazicioglu will also present. The teaching format includes lectures, discussions and short guided meditations.
