In this unique opportunity, questions around happiness
will be interrogated with a prominent Quran scholar.
Discussion Questions
* How do we unpack notions of happiness and serenity?
* How do we define who we are?
* How to be happy while watching the happiness-inducing “sources” coming to their ends?
* How to understand anxiety, fear and grief?
* How to maintain a grounded soul in the face of crises?
* How to start the process of making peace with death?

Yamina Bouguenaya is a scholar of the Quran and the director of Receiving Nur, a non-profit educational organization dedicated to empowerment and enrichment through Qur’anic spirituality. She transitioned from her position as Associate Professor of Islamic Studies in order to commit full time to Receiving Nur. In addition to extensive training in Islamic Studies, both in traditional and academic settings, she also holds a PhD in Theoretical Physics from Durham University, England. She has published extensively in several languages on Islam, especially on Quranic Studies, Islamic Spirituality and the relationship between religion and science. She is a native Arabic speaker, and also fluent in Turkish and French.
